At the Dental Aesthetics Center are exclusively used digital X-ray machines both for the single teeth radiographies and for panoramic radiographies.
This allows a reduction of x-ray exposure to patients, 80% compared to conventional X-ray.
The advantages of digital radiology are numerous. In particular include:
- radiation dose savings compared to traditional film
- possibility to change "after" the iconographic features of images, mainly the density and contrast, without having to repeat the examination
- disappearance of the use of liquids (Development – Fixing)
- rapid storage in minimum space (CD-ROM) and very quick recovery
- possibility to broadcast by cable or Internet in a very simple way, making consultations and discussions of cases by experts at distance ("teleradiology").
