A recent study on dental – phobic in growing age has shown that a 'very high percentage of children, about 80%, is dental phobic, and that females show higher levels of anxiety.

The anxious reaction may certainly be the result of negative or even traumatic experiences, but more frequently is the result of a behavioral imitation process of attitudes and modes of action of parents, more frequently of the mother rathen than the father, or of acquiring information strongly suggestive in negative sense, caused mainly by repeated description of distress or chilling experiences of children of same age or adults phobic.
Often empathetic sensibility of the dentist, supported by the collaboration of a psychologist and the inclusion of the element game may be enough to stem the problem, but it is very important that parents follow the instructions of a dentist to ensure their children can grow the dental phobic, so do not talk to the child about the dentist as a punishment, and, above all, take him from an early age to make dental checks every 6 months to familiarize himself with the dental practice so not to be scared when appropriate.
