Disability does not cause by itself changes in dentistry but, depending on the severity of the disability, can contribute to its development.

The main cause of various diseases in dental patients with disabilities is due to poor oral hygiene, which in long term, causes such serious situations to determine the increasing use of any surgery under general anesthesia. Infact, the uncooperative disabled patient needs a specific support by the medical staff and paramedics and often requires decisive treatment in a single session in which they extract teeth no more 'usable and mainly they try to treat and keep the teeth that can still save and preserve in the oral cavity as much as possible. The dentists and anesthetists of the Centre for Aesthetic Dentistry are highly skilled in the ways and expertise in the care of these patients.
